Our Level 4 architecture combines conventional techniques with Deep Active Inference planning. A dedicated Minimal Risk Manoeuvre ensures the vehicle can safely transition to a minimal-risk state whenever required.

Every journey begins with understanding the environment. A redundant combination of cameras, radar, LiDAR, and high-precision GNSS continuously captures a precise, real-time view of the road ahead, ensuring robust perception even in complex driving conditions.
02 ⏤ Understanding the contextSensor Fusion
Perception is only one of the key components. We then combine data from every sensor into a single, continuously updated 3D model of the environment. This unified understanding gives the vehicle the context it needs to interpret traffic situations with confidence.

With a complete understanding of its surroundings, our system then determines the safest and most effective course of action. Using Deep Active Inference decision architecture, the system continuously evaluates possible manoeuvres by balancing uncertainty, traffic rules, and passenger comfort.

LiDAR provides a centimeter accurate 3D view of the environment, detecting objects up to 250 metres away. Operating day and night, it delivers precise spatial geometry of vehicles, road edges, and lane boundaries.

Layers of Safety. One Trusted System.
Every MOTOR Ai Level 4 vehicle operates under continuous Technical Supervision, in line with German regulation. From our control centre in Berlin, trained Technical Supervisors monitor vehicle performance in real time and can approve manoeuvres or intervene whenever required.
Running alongside the autonomous driving system, our proprietary Technical Supervision platform continuously monitors system health and triggers a Minimal Risk Manoeuvre if conditions fall outside safe operating parameters adding an independent layer of safety to every journey.
